Hey….guess what? My new book about tomatoes has gone live on Amazon.com . OK, so maybe I’m bragging a little, but you have no idea the hoops these bastards make you jump through to get a book listed on Amazon….THAT’S if you can find a publisher in the first place….yea, the publisher, first they want to review your manuscript for an indeterminate amount of time….then they send you suggestions….”SUGGESTIONS? It’s more like an SS Officer suggesting you line up against a wall! Then there’s the graphics people that want to “help” you with your cover design…..kinda like someone helping a wheelchair bound person down a lonnnnnnggg flight of stairs with the sole of their foot! Look, I’ve probably forgotten more about graphics and Photoshop and Paintshop Pro and Xara and ….well you get the idea. They’re telling me that my graphics contain “Transparencies”….Really? Maybe I WANTED transparencies….did they ever think about that? So….I ask them….what’s the problem with that?…they say the colors may not be right. “May not”? I ask them, “They may not be right….you’re not sure”? They tell me they won’t know till the “Proof Copy” is run. I asked them if they run a “Proof Copy” whether they are sure the colors are correct or they think they may not be correct…..the lady told me they run the “Proof Copy” in either event, so I said let’s see if they’re good or not…OK?
Well I think they turned out pretty OK…..transparencies and all! I guess all’s well that ends well. so, run over to Amazon and pick up a bunch of these beauties for Father’s Day or some loved ones birthday or Christmas or….well, just buy one! Thanks.
